When Google took over Deja it took a while to get back to Mar 29, 1995 and
had almost given up hope that Google would make good on a Deja promise
to restore back many more years. We've got it now.
Most of my complaints with Deja at the end where they messed
themselves up before their database and engines were taken over by
Google have now been resolved.
- You can use the old Deja links or the MessageID
- Logical lookups is better than Google first provided, not quite as
good as Deja had but I think it is there just not announced (based
on some of Jeremy Nixon's stuff).
- You can once again obtain the original posting with all headers,
so you can find the MessageID.
- Google Advanced Groups Search is no longer marked Beta
- The Advanced Groups Search now has it's own HELP pages,
rather than just pointing the to Web Search HELP pages.

- Remediation for disatrous Google Beta Groups, Near the end of Nov 2004, Google Groups unleashed it's despised Google Groups Beta. Since nothing has been done to put things back to working order, I've tried to make notes of the things that were taken away from me, and if at all possible to get back what was taken away. (another attempt to obscure/destroy/hide message-id which is the building block of newsgroups)
- Orientation and Remediation for Google Groups style (about Feb 2007), Google changed the style of Google Groups to a space hogging
form with a useless third column anyone using less than 1024 x 768 will not be able
to use it very well. Page helps to show how to work with it, and for Firefox users
also has a bookmarklet to remove the third column. (also available on
