The Microsoft Virtual Machine is no longer supported, and should be removed from your system per LockerGnome article. But the article does not indicate how to make Java (Sun Microsystems) take over this function, since I had both I should not have to reinstall Java. But I did reinstall Java and this clock works again after a short delay in starting. No changes to the coding for the clock were involved. Install JAVA look for free download (for desktop systems), it may take 1/2 hour to install over a dialup line, do the typical install which will install the Java Applet.
