Whether on mainframes or PCs most of what I ended up using were macros that I wrote and used them as Building Blocks to do things one piece at a time. The amazing thing about macros is that once written they were almost immediately used on something completely different in combination with other macros to do something I would not have been prepared to do even one day earlier.

My Former sites at AOL have been moved to Geocities (which is part of YaHoo). I had stayed on AOL for a long time so you you would not have to look at advertising, I hope the limited advertising in the corner will not be too annoying it does not appear until after the web page has loaded and it can be removed each time you come to the page. Another possibility was XOOM, but I could not tolerate that much objectionable material at the top of the screen.

Some major changes due to additional restrictions on servers

Geocities restricts file extensions including: .dat, .spf, which will now have a .txt extension you will have to modify the extension in the rexx03spf library to .spf in order to use, but this will make it easier for everyone to download. Geocities as did AOL reestricts no extension so as before for the TSO versions in rexx02tso you will have to remove them and convert to TSO.
Several userids were required to spread out the files on AOL at 2MB limit per userid (screenname). This limit has been eased and all have been combined into a single userid with a 15MB limit. The biggest improvement will be that Excel web pages will be in one directory.
As before UNIX servers do not permit filenames with @, #, or $, so have used a 6 in place of @ at beginning of members, and a 5 in place of $ at beginning of members. The few that I had beginning wiht a $ have had the $ removed but they were command files not macros and mostly not included here.
Incidentally I use WS_FTP sorted on date to look for changes more recent than web page copy, and update the website accordingly. Having a single web presence and not having to switch to AOL should make future updates easier for me.

GEOCITIES archives
Althogh I moved my personal Geocities pages to www.mvps.org/dmcritchie there are many sites that simply went out when Yahoo turned out the lights on Geocities. But a chunk of that information has been archived. Finding it will present a problem as much of it is not yet online and is not indexed. But here are some links of interest.
